Rain On Me

Come rain on me
This is not who I am
Not who I want to be
Wash me clean.

Blow me away
In a puff of smoke
Make my world a haze
Make me the white page.

In the black, cloudy sky I see
Dull, intent eyes - watching me
Asking, asking, dry and devoid
Free them of inadequacy.

Sway me, like the gale would the tree
Uproot me when the earth is wet
Let me fall through cool, white mist
And while I fall, free my leaves.

When I'm fallen, leave me still
Then lose me. Set me free.

the background also seems to contribute to the beauty of the poem :)
